Recently, upscale home furnishing store chain Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, and West Elm, together with luxury lifestyle magazine editor Mia Borromeo, held a private event at Pottery Barn’s flagship store at Central Square, Bonifacio High Street.

Exclusive promos and daylong discounts were offered that afternoon.

Eager guests enjoyed the Spring-Summer home and décor pieces.

Making the affair more enjoyable were raffle prizes, which were given to eye-catching Ines Borromeo and classic beauty Linda Ley, as well as a special prize for the “best dressed” to Techie Hagedorn, who deserved it.

The invitees were treated to yummy summer platters, canapés and the bubbly champagne.

Other attractions at the bash were a bouquet station to customize your own floral sets, and a bag-stamp station from which guests brought home their own personalized summer bag.

With Pottery Barn’s latest offers, turn your inspirations for home and décor furnishings into reality.

In the Philippines, Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids are exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. and are located at Central Square in Bonifacio High Street, Taguig, and Estancia at Capitol Commons, Pasig.

Auro Chocolate

The private membership club Manila House was the scene of the recent launch of Auro Chocolate.

It is made by Oro Filipinas, or Filipinas Oro de Cacao, a proudly Filipino, bean-to-bar company that empowers local farmers to sustainably create the finest single-origin cocoa and chocolate products.

It is headed by its founder and president Jacki Go, with daughter Kelly Go as co-managing director, and partner Mark Ocampo.

The team pulled out all the stops with Manila House chefs headed by Selena Ocampo, gorgeous and talented daughter of Ricco Ocampo and Tina Maristela. Selena whipped up savory finger food like Taro Chips, Spice White Chocolate Dip with Goat’s Cheese.

There was also pumpkin soup (shooter), white chocolate foam, chocolate liqueur dust, jamon serrano, 72-percent dark chocolate, baguette, seared salmon, white chocolate cauliflower puree, scallion oil, slow-roasted beef belly with chocolate barbecue sauce, horseradish, and cocktails from Avenue Bar—all with Auro Chocolate infusions.

The night was made even more special with the serving of one-of-a-kind desserts made by four of the country’s most sought-after pastry chefs, namely: Sunshine Puey (Chocolate Silk with Hazelnut Crumble), Peachy Juban (Ding, Ang Bato!), Miko Aspiras (Bubbles/Block/Dark of the Moon) and Richie Manapat (Sourdough Rum Baba).

Hosting the event was Xandra Rocha-Araneta and the retro party music was by DJ Paul Mauricio.

The sweet and delightful night ended with the unveiling of a chocolate wall full of spoons with sumptuous chocolate creations by Auro.

The Auro Chocolate shop will open soon at Fabtech Bldg., Santiago St., Paseo de Magallanes Commercial Center, Makati City.

Casa De Memoria auction

The Casa’s “Man Cave” auction, which draws more than just the gentlemen at Casa De Memoria, the country’s premier auction house for European fine and decorative arts—recently trained the spotlight on men of power.

Its most recent auction, dubbed “The Gentleman’s Pursuits,” featured furniture, paintings and various conversation pieces that were bold, imposing, and downright masculine—the type of pieces that would fit right in a well-curated man cave.

The event held at Casa De Memoria’s main gallery along Jupiter Street in Makati, had more than just society’s refined men in attendance. Present were the likes of art collector Aga Muhlach and wife Charlene Gonzales.

Joanna Preysler and Raul Francisco of The Provenance Gallery were also present, comfortably in their element as one of Manille’s respected couples in art.

With an assortment of cocktails by ABV and hors d’oeuvres by Lazy Bastard, the guests were high in adrenaline as they basked in the beauty of the pieces on display, curated by Miguel Rosales.

Notable lots sold included a painting by Portuguese contemporary artist Sara Maia, an 18th-century center table carved in the Baroque style of Don Jose I, and a signed copy of Helmut Newton’s “Sumo”—the biggest and most expensive book of the 20th century, dahlings.

Casa De Memoria’s next auction, take note, palangga, is on July 17.
