I. JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant for General Accounting will be responsible for all functions related to the effective development and implementation of accounting policies and activities. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Payroll
- Process payroll by verifying information collected and submitted by Human Resource Department
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leaves, and nontaxable allowances
- Resolve payroll discrepancies
B. General Accounting
- Improve system to account for financial transactions by auditing chart of accounts, and developing and implementing clearer accounting policies and procedures
- Maintain and update accounting records by performing duties such as recording and posting transactions in journals and reconciling ledger accounts
- Maintain bank account records; reconcile and balance bank accounts
- Monitor receivables and process payables in a timely manner
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information; prepare monthly balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
- Prepare and submit monthly reportorial reports to government agencies (e.g. BIR, SEC)
- Assist the external auditor in the preparation and production of annual financial statements and other financial reports.
C. Cost Accounting
- Plan, study and collect data to determine costs of each manufacturing activity
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of product and services
III. BASIC RELATIONSHIP
- Reports to Managing Directors
- Coordinates with Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, and Production
- May be assigned other tasks by Managing Directors
IV. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent, preferably Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- At least 2 years of working experience in the related field is required
- Experience in a manufacturing firm is a plus
- Strong understanding of general accounting is a MUST (Financial, Management, Audit, Accounting Information and Taxation)
- Experience working with Quickbooks or any other accounting system a plus
- Must be independent, ethical and meticulous
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized; able to maintain accurate and consistent documents and records
