I. JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Accountant for General Accounting will be responsible for all functions related to the effective development and implementation of accounting policies and activities. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Accounting
- Improve the system to account for financial transactions by auditing charts of accounts, and developing and implementing clearer accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update accounting records by performing duties such as recording and posting transactions in journals and reconciling ledger accounts.
- Maintain bank account records; reconcile and balance bank accounts.
- Monitor receivables and process payables in a timely manner, including payroll transactions.
- Assist in creating a budget.
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information; prepare monthly balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Complete monthly closing procedures.
- Prepare and submit monthly reportorial reports to government agencies (e.g. BIR, SEC).
- Assist the external auditor in the preparation and production of annual financial statements and other financial reports.
- Perform other accounting duties assigned and support higher accountant and general accountant as required.
Administrative
- Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office.
- Create and organizes documents/filing systems, both electronic and physical.
- Oversees the renewal and filing per government agencies
- Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports and other correspondence
III. QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of working experience in the related field is required
- Experience in a retail firm and restaurants is a plus
- Strong understanding of general accounting is a MUST (Financial, Management, Audit, Accounting Information and Taxation)
- Experience working with QuickBooks, Oracle or any other accounting system a plus
- Must be independent, ethical and meticulous
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized: able to maintain accurate and consistent documents/records.
